This program has proven to be very successful. So far, we have sent tools to the military, foster care, women shelters, under privledged schools, counselors for bullying and abuse and families in need.
In the fast growing lane of the electronic world, kids are becoming desensitized. Presently, there are many statistics showing that they are struggling with intimacy, empathy and communication; leaving more room for isolation, loneliness and coldness. Onionhead is created to balance the scales of this ‘metal world’ we have introduced our children to. It is nice that we have computer programs that teach certain intellectual skills, but it is necessary to have emotional programs that teach loving skills.
All people, no matter what the age need to be in touch with what they feel. There is, never will be, never has been a better way to touch someone else’s heart or our own.
Onionhead is a non-profit organization that empowers and educates through books, tools, programs and workshops. We learn how to name our feelings, claim our feelings and tame our feelings. By doing so, we then are able to aim our feelings in a truthful and heartfelt way.
